Landscape design inspired by client’s 5-year-old daughter, Hazel. When asked what was her favorite color, she replied “a Rainbow”. We designated each flowerbed to a specific color, while adding in touches that made the gardens cohesive… Fun!

Visiting the Geisemann property is always a treat. Located in a pasture outside of LaMotte, IA, you drive over two cattle crossings to get to the property. Then, we are greeted by a couple of lucky farm dogs and 2 black cats. Bill and Sherry have made a beautiful home for themselves in this location, and it’s a a joy that NGL is their choice for landscaping.

This property is the home of Steve Schaaf – his childhood home. Now at 60, Steve and wife Renee wished to fix up the home for a family getaway cottage by the Mississippi. They expressed their wish to have a cottage theme. So we got to work designing and planning to create a cottage space by the river. Soon we learned that they had a deadline of July 4th weekend. Their entire joined family from states far and wide were coming for a reunion. The destination for this party was the cottage in Camanche. Myself and my incredible crew hit the deadline & man, what a stylish English cottage feel we created!

The evergreen in the corner was dead, albeit some green remained at the very top. The flowering accent tree was beyond help. Both trees were suffocated by landscape fabric being tucked and stapled around the trunk of the tree. Trees & plants require water to reach the root and access to air, which the fabric nullified. New trees now have fabric 1’ from trunk so water and air can reach them.

We turn the ordinary into EXTRAordinary by adding our creative ideas for a naturally groovy landscape upgrade. This is an example of a design presented to a client in East Dubuque, IL. Our iScape software allows us to SHOW you options for your new landscape.
We will add prairiefire flowering crabapple trees, purple balloon flowers, tall white phlox and maidenhair grasses in the spring 2024.
Our client’s goal is to add color but requests minimal plant maintenance.
